In structural reinforcement projects, when is it necessary to use carbon fiber reinforcement at the bottom of the beam?

Carbon fiber reinforcement at the bottom of the beam

Carbon fiber reinforcement at the bottom of the beam is required in the following situations:

(1) The beam is damaged, such as cracks on the bottom of the beam.

Due to the good tensile properties of carbon fiber cloth, the development of cracks can be well suppressed by sticking carbon fiber cloth on the bottom surface of the beam, thus achieving the purpose of strengthening the structure. Before attaching the carbon cloth, it is generally necessary to seal the cracks with sealant and grouting glue.

(2) The seismic performance of the house does not meet the design requirements.

The beams are reinforced with carbon fibers for earthquake resistance.

(3) Reduce the deformation caused by the increase in the load of the house.

(4) Insufficient reinforcement.
