How to apply carbon laminate?

The construction glue must be mixed thoroughly, and then a layer of at least 2 mm is applied to the prepared surface. Then, it is necessary to apply an adhesive with a thickness of 1.0 mm to the surface of the sheet and allow a certain amount of time for the system to reach its maximum viscosity. During the predetermined curing time of the epoxy adhesive, the carbon laminates is coated on the reinforcing element prepared and glued in advance. To remove excess glue, you need to press the sheet tightly with a rubber roller.

Do I need to prepare before starting work?

Yes it is. It must be believed whether the surface to which the composite sheet needs to be applied is solid, and whether sufficient contact surfaces have been prepared by abrasion methods. There should be no blemishes, protrusions and cavities on the surface. Before using construction glue, dust must be thoroughly removed. When working, there must be no moisture on the surface. The carbon fiber laminate must be placed on a cleaned table, and the surface must be thoroughly cleaned to avoid contamination by solvents, and then dried for at least 35 minutes.


What are the advantages of carbon fiber laminate as a material?

The carbon fiber laminate is very light and does not create additional stress on the structure. It has excellent corrosion resistance, is easy to transport and install, and reduces labor and working time. When reinforced with thin plates, it is not necessary to stop the operation of the building or structure being reinforced, and during the subsequent operation, there is no need to spend additional expenses. It also has high tensile properties.


How many layers of carbon fiber laminate are pasted?

If more than one layer of carbon laminates is used, it will not cause a corresponding increase in the force generated in the external reinforcement. Therefore, one layer is sufficient. This is due to the factor that limits the deformation of the composite material to prevent the external reinforcement from peeling off. Therefore, no matter how many layers are applied, the ultimate moment of the section reinforced with external reinforcement remains constant.

Which buildings are carbon fiber laminates most suitable for?

Composite laminates have high rigidity and are therefore very suitable for strengthening large-span buildings. This material is oriented strictly in one direction and is uniformly distributed in the polymer in the form of rigid stripes.
