Carbon Fiber Reinforcement In Reinforcing Dangerous Masonry Buildings
The unidirectional carbon fiber cloth
It is recommended to choose the carbon fiber cloth with typical specifications currently on the market. The specifications are as follows: The weight per unit area of carbon fiber is 200g, 300g, 600g. The number of carbon fiber cloth layers is single or two layers.

1) When strengthening the wall. The experimental study found that when the aspect ratio of the wall is greater than 0.5, the “X” pasting method is suitable, and when it is less than 0.5, the “^” pasting method should be used (see Figure 2).
2) When reinforcing the floor slab, the main focus is on the lack of flexural strength of the support and the middle of the span, and carbon fiber cloth is used for reinforcement, or the reinforcement is reinforced because of the partial opening of the floor, as shown in Figure 3.
Arrangement of anchors
The main role of carbon fiber in the reinforced wall is to withstand tension, but the pressure it bears is not obvious. The corners where the carbon fiber cloth is pasted are anchored at the intersections and ends of the carbon fiber cloth due to stress concentration. It can ensure that the carbon fiber cloth can continue to work under stress even when it is peeled off from other parts of the wall, and it can also exert its advantage of high tensile strength. It is more reliable to anchor at the intersection of carbon fiber cloth, carbon fiber cloth and the lower end of the wall by using carbon fiber pins to penetrate the steel plate.
Construction points
The construction process should be strictly in accordance with the following procedures: construction preparation-bottom layer treatment-preparation of primer painting-mortar plastering and leveling-preparation of structural glue painting-sticking of unidirectional carbon fiber cloth-bolt anchoring-plastering surface protection.
Precautions
The appearance of the carbon fiber cloth used for construction should be clean and tidy, free from damage and pollution. There should be no more than 2 places for weft and weft loss per 50m; no more than 1 place for the warp break of carbon fiber cloth with a length of no more than 10mm per 50m, and no more than 2 places with a warp break of more than 10mm; the fibers are arranged uniformly. After the reinforcement construction, the areas subject to rain or other interference should be shielded and maintained. The relative humidity should not be greater than 70%; because carbon fiber is a conductor second only to metal, it should be kept away from power sources and electrical equipment during construction to avoid the risk of electric shock.
